When I eat certain foods, especially citrusy foods like oranges I develop terrible stomach pains so I try to avoid foods like this that could trigger this. Do you think that this sounds like an allergy or just digestive issues with this type of food?

This could be due to an allergic reaction, but you won't know for sure until you make a doctors visit. The mean time, I would continue aviod all citrus products.

It's also probably heartburn. People often think of heartburn as a pain in the chest, but it also affects your stomach. I would get heartburn for a week or days at a time and would feel nauseous every time I ate or drank anything acidic (like citrus fruit, wine, coffee, etc). Try taking an antacid before you eat those foods.

I can not hack spicy foods even something that most thing is quite tame is super spicey to me and my buddys all have a joke at my stomachs expense for it. I wish I could eat the spicy stuff but its just not something that is going to happen anytime soon and its bad since so many of my foods (esp. mexican) are spicy and smell so good. Or maybe it could be the acid of the citrus food. You could have hyperacidity and maybe you haven't noticed the pain yet when eating other highly acidic food.

There's a lot of possiblities that may cause abdominal pain, one of these is your diet. Before taking any supplement you must undergo a supplement review first.

Citrus fruits can lead to acidity of your stomach. Be sure to eat your meal first before eating oranges.

You may have an intolerance, in which foods negatively impact your digestive system. This is different from allergies, which attack your immune system and can also affect your skin and respiratory system as a previous poster mentioned.

I think you're having stomach hyperacidity but it is best to consult your doctor to make sure that the diagnosis is correct. After that you will know which foods that are right for you to eat.

There are so many things it "could" be that you should really discuss it with your doctor. They will probably have a clearer understanding of the possibilities and may prescribe something or run some tests.

It may be the acid in the oranges and other citrus foods that is causing the problem. Try drinking lots of water the next time you have an orange. If you have less pain than usual, that might be a factor.
