A friend of mind at work is complaining about cold sensation in their throat while they are trying to breathe. Is it possible he could be experiencing some form of acid reflux?

There a stong chance you could be suffering from acid reflux. I would talk some pepto bismol to see if this woerks. If this continues, you should make a doctor's appointment.

I have never heard it explained as a cold sensation in the throat. It is usually classed as a burning sensation. Pepto Bismol couldn't hurt I'm sure but I would talk to the doctor about it as it could be some other problem.

I have never heard of it being described as a cold sensation. When I have reflux it is definitely a burning sensation like swallowing fire. Milk usually helps me to feel better.

There are many over the counter and prescription medicines you can try for heart burn and acid reflux. I have never heard it described as a cold sensation before though. For me it feels like swallowing a ball of fire.

Cold sensation in throat could be due to acid reflux. Wear lose fitting clothes, avoid overeating, abstain oily and spicy food, and eat fresh fruits and vegetables before meals or in the empty stomach.

- Recognize when food is
regurgitated. When acid reflux is particularly bad, food backs up into
the esophagus, becoming extremely painful and giving the chest a feeling
of heaviness and discomfort.

i researched and found out that acid reflux is not the same as heartburn, though.. they are two different things.. Acid reflux is a condition where gastric juices containing acid travel back from the stomach into the esophagus.

Holy cow, ok this just hit me. Was sitting on the sofa watching TV when
it hit. At first I thought maybe the AC was blowing on the back of my
head and neck. Checked the AC and it was off. I live in St Pete
Florida, it's 81 inside right now, and my head and neck are freezing. I
jumped in the shower strangely the water was nearly scorching on most
of my body but Log in or Register to read more… |
