I think one of the brand names is Prilosec. I take it too, but I take the prescription strength of it. It certainly is a miracle drug. If you haven't had stomach pain from ulcers or gastritis, you have no idea how painful this can be.

Yes-this and other drugs certainly have brought about an improved quality of life for those who suffer from ulcers. I hope that you also got treated with antibiotics to treat the helicobacter pylori infection that you likely had.

My husband has reflux and none of these drugs ever seem to relieve his symptoms. Any other suggestions?

I've taken Priolsec OTC for many months. I can't believe how well it works. I take 1 in the morning and I'm good for the day. I can even eat spicy food throughout the day. I don't know what is in it but it's a miracle drug for me.

I take it consistently. It really works well for me. I take a lot of arthritis medicines and they hurt my stomach. So the doctor gave me some prescription strength Omeprazole and I'm golden. It works very well for me.

Omeprazole can decrease the amount of acid in your stomach if you have problems with acid. Its known to be one of the most efficient drugs in figting acid reflux.

I take Prepulsid because of the medications that I take and that works wondes for me. I don't think this is an OTC drug but a prescription drug. Talk to your doctor about it. I have been taking it for about 20 years and no side affects and no acid reflux or heartburn occurs.

Omeprazole, i take the name brand and it works great! I usually take it before I eat acidic food and I have no acid reflux whatsoever. I can eat spicy food again!
