OK I have to know the answer to this question which has always plagued me. Is it true that greasy foods like pizza or even chocolate can cause acne? I don't think so but I would love to hear from someone who is in the know.

Actually there is some evidence that it is true. One way to help clear up your skin is to drink LOTS of water and to make sure you wash your face at least twice a day.

They say certain foods bother certain people's skin.  I had a friend who got acne from drinking milk and milk products.  I know if I eat more chocolate products I get pimples too.  So I am sure foods do cause acne.

Actually, I have sensitive skin even though I'm a guy and I had to be very careful when I was a teen about washing my face with harsh products or washing it too much.

Acne caused by blockages in the hair follicles. The blockage usually result in a bump forming that we refer as a pimple.

I have heard it is a myth that foods like chocolate cause acne, when you eat too much. I know that some foods can cause outbreaks in certain people though. Also, drinking water is very good for your skin and will help clear it up.

Acne occurs when tiny holes on the surface of the skin, called pores, become clogged. Each pore is an opening to a canal called a follicle, which contains a hair and an oil gland. Normally, the oil glands help keep the skin lubricated and help remove old skin cells. When glands produce too much oil, the pores can become blocked, accumulating dirt, debris, and bacteria.

Acne isn't

Eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water will make your skin look better, but junk food does NOT cause acne. Actually, acne is caused by overly excited sebaceous glands like Rene said.

yes,I totally agree with soleranz. Oily food is one of the main reasons for occurence of acne. people should limit the use of oil while preparing food.

Also,Less amount of spices should be added.

I don't think spicy food has anything to do with acne.

A clean and healthy diet is key to healthy looking skin. For most of my life I've eaten very healthfully, and I have always had very clear skin. I don't use face wash or anything, just water (and sometimes coconut oil). I've heard that some nightshades can cause acne. Other than that, spicy, greasy, processed foods contribute. I would keep the spicy and drop the other too though
