I was told that the next time I end up having a "fit" with it, then its gone. I guess I should take my doctor for his word since he has never done me wrong but I have had two minor fits with my appendix, is that bad?

Have you told your doctor? I would think it would be time for it to come out before it ruptured. A ruptured appendix and the infection it causes is not a joke. It causes an infection called peritonitis and can be deadly. I would have it checked out.

Oh my- I would tell my doctor too. You don't want to cause serious damage to your body. Even if they were minor fits they were still problems. Let the doctor be the judge if you need something done or not.

Bennie might be saying he has had "mild" cases of appendicitis or something like that but so far did not lead to surgery or complication.? Is it possible that an appendicitis does not progress or the inflammation just reverses and heals and doesn't lead to bursting or any complication at all?

I wonder if that is possible too. I mean, I believe that might be possible. Because sometime ago I experienced a pain that was like the way they described appendicitis. After a few hours of observing the pain in bed I fell asleep and when I awoke the pain subsided. A few more hours of bedrest and the pain did not come back. It could have been something else too but I really felt it was Log in or Register to read more… |

If your appendix is removed before it ruptures, you will likely get well very soon after surgery. If your appendix ruptures before surgery, you will probably recover more slowly, and are more likely to develop an abscess or other complications.
