Most people I know who suffer from asthma got their illness through their genes. What are the factors for a person to acquire asthma if heredity is the cause? Is it possible that adults can develop asthma because I think only children can acquire asthma.

Both my brothers and I had asthma when we were little. However, we have outgrown it. My girls suffer from frequent bronchitis and allergies. I wonder if they will be developing asthma like I did.
