I was thinking about when I was in a car wreck during my early twenties, I ended up with out patient physical therapy and three times a week I had the chance to visit a massage therapist. Now for those who would do something that their job requires repetitive motion like this, how are they going about doing their job safe without the chance of causing carpal tunnel in the first place?

To try to prevent carpal tunnel, try these tips:
- try to lose weight if you are overweight
- if you're doing the same motions with your hands over and over, try not to bend, twist or extend your hands for long periods of time.

My job requires typing everyday. I normally rest my wrist on the table when I'm using the mouse and that might be the cause for the pain I have. Only the right wrist has a pain but my left is alright.

I think it's tough to control. If you are constantly doing the same motions you have to be sure to take a lot of breaks in between and give the muscles a break. I have had a lot of friends have this problem and have the surgery!

I have heard that kids who play video games for long periods of time have now been developing carpal tunnel as well. Scary to think all it takes is some repetitive motion.
