Does a hard bump of the head can cause cerebral palsy? Or it is genetic?

I have never heard of a bump on the head causing it. I`ve heard that a baby can get it at birth when they are not getting enough oxygen. I don`t know if that`s true or not. I think it must be genetic.

It is not genetic. It is a type of brain damage-and it is non-progressive. Normally it is caused by oxygen deprivation, but other injuries can cause the same effect-including a bump on the head hard enough to cause, say, a brain bleed.
The big thing is that it happens early on. I'm not sure of the cut off, but the disability must be caused within the first few weeks or months of the Log in or Register to read more… |
