My mother-in-law recently complained of having difficulty in swallowing her food. She says that she feels that everything she eats sticks in her chest. She also vomits sometimes after this chest pain.

It could be heartburn or angina. Has your MIL consulted her cardiologist?

Hmmn… that's weird. It seems that your mother in law is suffering from dysphagia. People with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing and may experience pain when they do. Even liquids! So often, this could be a serious disorder that the sufferer becomes malnourished. Also, people with dysphagia often choke from the food they eat or liquids they drink. I think that your mother in law is suffering from achalasia.
The dysphagia is only one part of achalasia, but your mother-in-law also suffers from vomitting and chest pains, which would suggest achalasia. Achalasia affects your esophagus and is characterized by the failure to relax.

Has your mother in law consulted with a gastro doctor? These symptoms sound like a stomach issues even though she is having chest pain. She only has chest pain when she eats? She should definitely consult with a gastroenterologist if she hasn't already.
