Do you take a flu shot each season? I do not and never seem to get sick. Maybe if I was older I would but right now I don't see any need to get it for me or for the children.

Its very possible to have not had flu shot and still not get sick. People who have strong immune systems can often avoid getting sick each year.

I've never had a flu shot until last year, and when I got one, I immediately sick. Before having a flu shot, I hardly ever had the flu.

I do not think I have ever had a flu shot, maybe when I was younger like before my teen years but that is it. I have never had too many issues with the flu unless I end up going outside in nasty weather with wet hair (still at this age too).

I had them in my early teens because my asthma was so bad that I was hospitalised a time or three. But I started to refuse them when I realised that the only one still getting sick in my family was me.

I've been taking them for the last few years and I haven't had any colds or flu. Â I usually have the flu at least once a year. Â I think I'll continue to take them as I've had pretty good luck since I've taken them.

I've never had the flu shot, but I know a lot of people who have and even if you get the flu shot that does not guarantee you will not get the flu. Â Hope this info helps.

I think that there is a need for almost everyone to get flu shots. It is very probable that you end up in bed sooner or later for a couple of days a year. If you could avoid this why wouldn't you? You can use these days to be productive and healthy.
I do get flu shots (for free, from the government) since I am considered part of the risk group. This is because I suffer from Log in or Register to read more… |

I have never gotten a flu shot and haven't planned on getting it. Â It's not a 100% guarantee that you wont get the flu so what's the point?

This year's annual flu shot will offer protection against the pandemic H1N1 (swine flu) virus, in addition to two other influenza viruses that are expected to be in circulation this fall and winter. Influenza is a respiratory infection that can cause serious complications, particularly to young children and older adults. Flu shots are the most effective way to prevent influenza and its Log in or Register to read more… |

Yes, I agree with Spark! I had the flu last year and then had a relapse less than a month later. I lost many work days and because I had to get tamiflu (the medication for the virus) twice in one month, my insurance did not cover it the second time and it was very expensive! So taking work off, paying for medication and suffering for two weeks are reasons enough for me to get the flu shot and I Log in or Register to read more… |

As what I understand, a flu vaccine does not guarantee that one cannot acquire anymore a flu. A regular intake of Vitamin C is perhaps the best prevention.

That is true Joshua99 a flu vaccine is not a 100% guarantee that you will not get the flu. Â I got the flu vaccine a couple of years ago and unfortunately I still got the flu. :(

Flu vaccine is not a get out of jail free card. However, it does protect you from the most dangerous strains of the season. Most people benefit from it because even if they get the flu, they don't get it as strong. Also, if you have to care for infants and seniors, it helps prevent you make them sick. I started taken the flu shot 15 years ago when I worked at a hospital, then because of my Log in or Register to read more… |

I refuse to get a flu shot. I see no good reason to introduce a toxin into my body. If I end up with the flu, I will treat naturally, but if I take precautions and shore up my immune system, I feel I am better off than those who get flu shots. Additionally, there are indications that some vaccines are including substances that increase infertility and/or miscarriages, and I do not care to Log in or Register to read more… |

If your child does need a flu shot, your pediatrician is the best place
to start looking, but if they aren't offering flu vaccine this year, you
might check with your local health department, hospital, or pharmacies,
and get one wherever you can.
