This is the third year in a row that I have gotten a horrible summer cold. What causes people to get colds like this in the summertime? Is it going in and out from the heat into the air conditioning?

I am not sure what cause it but I usually get at least one every summer myself. You wouldn't think there would be a lot of cold germs running around this time of year but I guess there must be a few!

My mom always said that is what caused it, but who knows. Maybe your immune system is just more prone to getting sick Log in or Register to read more… |

I think it's just the weather and the changes in temperature.

Hi,
Take antiviral drugs ….these are compounds that are used to
prevent or treat viral infections, via the disruption of an infectious mechanism
used by the virus, or to treat the symptoms of an infection. Different types of
antiviral drugs have different modes of
operation.

Its actually because of body temprature getting high and then low. When the temprature goes up and down faster there are chances of being affected with cold. Again the tissues of cold virus are spread fast in the air so if some one is already affected just avoid him other wise it may affect you too.

I believe it is the changing of weather patterns – temperature in particular – that causes the summer cold. I usually get this as well, and this year is no different. Actually, I'm pretty sure I caught a summer flu this year. Not quite the way I wanted to start the sunny season!

I don't know, but my daughter has had a terrible cold that ended up in an ear infection. I thought hers was allergies, but after going to the dr. I was told it probably wasn't.

It's summer here and yesterday I had a general cleaning in my own room. There were dust everywhere. Right now I am sneezing and I keep blowing my nose since this morning. Air conditioning to me does not result in having colds.

Maybe it's not a cold, it could just be allergies.

Do you mean you shouldn't dust when you have a cold?
