I have a very good friend whose brother suffered from Crohns disease for many years. It took its toll on him and he never felt like he could live a normal life. He dealt with anger and depression and finally all of that took hold and he killed himself, really I think over being so miserable living with this disease. If you have a loved one who suffers please know that there is more to this

One time I was in the hospital and I had a room with a young woman who suffered from Crohn's Disease and she was telling me about her life and how she was ruled by this dreadful disease.  I felt so sorry for her.  Luckily she had a boyfriend who was very caring and understanding but I couldn't help but feel that the depression she felt about this disease would one day get to her as

You know my mother had Crohns too and we had to check her into a physch center 3 times when we were younger.  She was on anti-depressants and they said the medicine and the disease made her have mental problems too.  I wondered if that was normal.

Having Crohn's disease can be stressful. The disease affects every part of your life. Seek support from family and friends to help you cope. Get counselling if you need it.
