Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive tract. It is one of the most common chronic lung diseases in children and young adults, and may result in early death. Because there are more than 1,000 mutations of the CF gene, symptoms differ from person to person.

This is great information, Charli! Because CF causes so many lung infections from thick mucus clogging the lungs, a lot of CF treatment focuses on clearing the airways. One ACT, or Airway Clearing Technique, is called Postural Drainage and Percussion.
