I am very prone to canker sores. How do you treat these? Any home remedies you know of?

You may have already tried this, but gargling warm salt water usually helps dry them up quickly.

Well, canker sores are one form of mouth sores or mouth ulcers. These are the painful, open sore inside the mouth — usually on the inner cheek, inner lips, on the tongue, on the soft palate and even on the base of the gums. Canker sores are not contagious.
A cold sore, on the other hand, is different. Cold sores or fever blisters occur on the outer lip.

I just use a topical medicine. Try Oracort.

I usually get cold sores not canker sores I am pretty sure but to treat cold sores I take a q-tip with alcohol on it and apply that several times a day to help dry it out quickly. At night time I put on a topical creme like Blistex or Camphofinique.

A trick I learned from my grandmother: Fill a drinking glass with warm water then add 1 tablespoon of salt. Mix them together and swish throughout your whole mouth. Spit out and do the same process again.

A friend taught me this, but I haven't tried it yet:
Make a thick paste from 1/2 tsp. baking soda (read: not baking powder) and several drops of water. Apply a small amount of the paste directly to the sore. Hold the sore area away from your teeth and gums for around one or two minutes. Don't eat or drink and do not touch the sore with your tongue for around 10 minutes. The easiest home remedy is a mixture of half hydrogen peroxide and half water. Use a cotton swab to apply the mixture directly to the canker sore. Then, dab a small amount of Milk of Magnesia on the canker sore, three to four times a day. This is soothing and may also help it heal.

I swear by a new product called The Canker Spanker. Heals canker sores
fast and you can use it to prevent future canker sores. Way cheaper than
a prescription. Good luck, I know they suck.
