I am afraid to give Tylenol and analgesics to my kids. Do you know of effective home remedies for toothaches?

When I was younger, my mother made me put garlic with a little salt on the affected tooth. It took the pain away for me. I was told that my cousins chewed garlic to help them have strong teeth and less problems with their gums… I imagine it didn't do wonders for their breath though.

Onion is also a good home remedy for tooth aches. Aside from that an onion can clean your mouth by killing bacteria. One raw onion that you chew can go a long way. If you have toothaches, place a slice of onion on the affected area.

Lime is also a good home remedy. Eat it raw with the peel still on. IT's going to be unpleasant, but at least your toothache goes away.

We lived in an area with a lot of bay berry. You make a paste of the bay berry's bark and mix it with vinegar. This took away your toothache in a matter of minutes!

My husband swears by pepper powder. You mix a pinch of it with salt and it makes the toothache go away.

My mum always put a little clove oil on my toothaches. To this day the smell reminds me of the dentist, in a bad way I'm afraid and I would never use cloves in any other way.
