At what age would you typically expect to notice Dyslexia in a child? I have an 8-year-old nephew who my sister suspects is Dyslexic but she is unsure if that's even possible at his age. Should she have him tested?

I think it would certainly be possible for an eight year old to be diagnosed as dyslexic and that would be a good age to get help if he does have a problem.

I taught second grade for years and during that time, we had a few students who were diagnosed with dyslexia. I think around the age of 7 or 8 is when students with dyslexia begin to have difficulty or when it is noticed as that is when they are usually beginning to read more.
