I have this incessant ringing in my ear and it is really bad because I lose sleep over this. I also have a hard time concentrating. I have yet to see my doctor, but I was wondering if any of you guys have experienced this or would know what this is and how to stop it?

Hmmm, seems like you have a case of tinnitus, which is described as a ringing in your ear. It can be buzzing sounds or clicking sounds too, not just ringing. Sorry, but there are no known cure for this.

See your doctor, he might be able to diagnose you properly and give you a good treatment for that condition. If it is tinnitus, then you might be able to find some relief in removing excess wax from your ears.
I still say see your doctor, it could be something other than tinnitus.

A lifestyle change is in order. Are you drinking too much? Do you
smoke? Then consider stopping. Tinnitus has been caused by drinking
and smoking too much! If that is not the case, then consider wearing
ear muffs, because you would really need to tone down the noise you
have. If you have trouble sleeping because of the ringing, you might

Now it could very well be a old wives tale only but I remember growing up hearing that when this happens, that is a certain tone that you will never hear again. That the ringing we hear is the slow death of that tone and once its gone its gone for good.

My former boyfriend had this, and what helped was a hot compress on his neck. Supposedly, hot compresses help your blood circulation in the area and help tone down the symptoms. You can also try massaging the area for the same reason.
