Did you get tonsilitus a lot as a kid? Is it better or worse to get it as a kid or as an adult? Did you have your tonsils removed?

I got my tonsils taken out as a kid because I got way too many throat infections. My parents and doctor decided they should proceed with surgery. I still get throat infections but not nearly as many as i used to before the surgery.

I had my tonsils out at age 11. My sister-in-law had hers out as an adult. In comparing stories, we determined that it is definitely easier on a child than on an adult. I guess we lose some resiliency as we age.
