What are some of the symptoms of hernia? How does a doctor go about making a conclusive diagnosis? Would you definitely know if you had one or are the symptoms of a hernia subtle?

When my dad had a hernia he said it was like a bump right near his belly button. It almost looked like something was trying to come out of his stomach, possibly because he let it get too bad before seeing a doctor.

I don't think it is treatable without seeing a doctor Rene, if you are having any of the above mentioned symptoms you should definitely seek medical advice.
