When did you have your first colonoscopy.  A friend of mine had her first one a few weeks ago, but she has a history of colon cancer in her family.  What is the recommended age if there is no history?

Recommended age for a screening colonoscopy is 50 years of age.  For someone who has colon cancer in their family history depending on the age of the family member that's how you know when to get one.  For example: Your aunt had colon cancer at the age of 55, it is recommended you get one at the age of 45.  Its a preventative measure.
