Have you ever experienced pubic symphysis diastasis? It was one of the most painful aspects of my pregnancy and it leads me now to wonder-could I have avoided it? Is there something I could have done?

That actually sounds quite painful and while I have never experienced it :) and neither have any of my female friends, it does sound like something if you did go through with it, a doctor should have explained to you – what can cause it, etc. Honestly, until I looked this up I had no idea what it was.

Pubic bone pain in pregnancy is also know as Pubic Symphysis Diastasis. This is where, usually in later pregnancy, the hormone relaxin causes the pelvis, particularly at the pubic bone, to loosen. This is the first time I have heard about this. I had a hard time delivering my eldest child because it seems my pelvic bone didn't open as much. I could have used a little of this.
