How important are exercises during pregnancy? What types of exercises can be done at such period? Who should be consulted for the right work out program?

Consult your doctor about an exercise program.  Usually you can continue doing what you were used to doing before, unless you have complications.  If you are starting a new program, walking, swimming, and yoga are popular choices.

Exercises are beneficial during pregnancy. Among the benefits of exercise is promoting muscular strength, which is helpful during labor/delivery. Always check with your doctor about what movements are safe for you to. Definitely, strenuous exercises are a no-no…I've known a lot of pregnant women who do swimming.
