At this age, it obviously is not a huge problem, but what do you do for the child who refused to wear pull ups and yet still has accidents at night? Too much sleep is lost to cleaning up the mess.

Depending on the age, I have heard that parents who make a big deal out of bedwetting actually enable the child to continue doing it for a longer time than normal. Because they make a fuss about it the child can only think of themselves getting attention when they do it. Another suggestion would be to get bed wetting sheets like the ones they use in hospitals. They are padded on one side and plastic or rubber on the other. put this over top of the bottom sheet in their beds and then when it is wet you only have to remove that pad and replace it with a dry one.

Well my child is not old enough for this to be a problem in the sense that you mean but we have leaky diapers from time to time. Here's a trick another mom taught me though…get the bed wetting sheet with the dry pad put a sheet on top of it and then repeat for as many bed wetting sheets as you have. I don't know if you want to go to this level, but there are bed wetting alarms that you can get. They attatch to an absorbent pad you place on the bed and if any moisture hits the pad an alarm goes off to wake the child.

The alarm is not something I would go to unless it continues on for a long time. You have to remember that just like other muscles bladder muscles take a long time to strengthen and develop especially when you are sleeping and in a relaxed state. I do agree with those who have said that making a big deal about it is the wrong way to go.
