I sit and watch the relationship with my 11 yr old daughter worsening as she gets older.
At what point will the mother daughter relationship stabilize and the discussions will begin again.

I watched my sister do this. It seems some kids do this and some don't. If you can just keep the lines of communication up, it helps a lot. Your daughter needs a friend as well as a mother while she is going through puberty. Let her know she can come to you with anything even though you may disapprove, you'll help. Good luck. The teen years can be rough.

Chin up! Keep on talking to her. She needs to know that you are there for her no matter what. You have to let her know that the relationship is very important to you and she can tell you anything. Be kind, listen and do not be judemental. They are really tough years. I know I'm living it righ tnow- I have a 13 year old!

Keep a chin up. From what I can remember this all ends when the girls get into college about mid-way through. Or at least that is when my mom and sisters ended the all out war.

Hang in there and it'll pass. My wife went through the same thing with her mom when she was about 12 years old and now they are the best of friends.
