Have you ever been tested for Tuberculosis? I used to work in the medical field and with children so I had to be tested once a year. I was also tested when my daughter was born.

One will probably be advised to be tested for TB if there's a suspicion of infection, liike if you are exposed to persons with the disease, or if you have a chronic cough and your chest xray looks suspicious, and other tell-tale signs.

My cousin was tested twice before entering a nursing program. She had a TB skin test which she said was like a tiny pin prick. That test had a reaction so she had to go have a chest x-ray to make sure she really didn't have TB. The chest x-ray was normal.

Just how contagious is tuberculosis??? If a family member has it and you care for him, would you contract this too?
