I know that it is possible to get arthritis no matter what age you are, but it more common in the elderly. Could you tell me is there any could of treatment available that can numb the pain?

I don't think that there is anything that can numb the pain but meds like Celebrex used to be used commonly to help ease the pain somewhat. But I think some of these drugs have now been taken off the market.

I seem to remember that depending on what you do for a living (repetitive motion) ends up with carpel tunnel. That can lead to full blown arthritis right?

Yes any kind of repetitive movements can lead to arthritis from typing to bending and lifting. Your chances are even higher if you get some kind of injury like carpal tunnel or a knee injury you are even more likely to have arthritis later on.

Treatment of arthritis depends on the particular cause, which joints are affected, severity, and how the condition affects your daily activities.  If possible, treatment will focus on eliminating the underlying cause of the arthritis. However, the cause is NOT necessarily curable, as with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment, therefore, aims at reducing your pain and discomfort
