Is there any safe time when taking an allergy test? I know that right now mine have been worse than ever in the past years and I am not sure if its because I am getting older or the things that drive me nuts are getting worse. I have spent so much on OTC items this year along I swear its at least 3x as bad as last year was.

Allergies may be affecting you for several reasons. It is usually an over reacting immune response to certain substances. When your allergies get worse, this is probably due to the environment around you changing or your physiology changing. Environmental factors can be distinguished by allergies getting worse or better depending on the time (such as the seasons, or even the time of day). These

With as nutty as the weather has been lately right now I am almost tempted. I just worry that when I do take the test for some reason they are going to miss something that is "out of season" and then its going to hit be twice as hard the next go around.

I am just wondering if you know just what it is you are allergic to.  You will need to pinpoint your allergens by trial and error, so that you would know how to better handle it.  You just can't take any OTC drugs and hope that your allergies would go away.

I agree.  This is the reason why I don't go for self-medication.  It is dangerous and people just do not know what they are doing.

Chucky, you must seek medical help with your allergies.  They will guide you on what to do to better handle your allergies.  For your sake, do not medicate all by yourself!

There is a new allergy test that tests for the most common allergens, that include food, bugs, trees, grass, all kinds of interesting things.  Also I read on a laboratory website that some allergies people have cause them to have migraines.  I wonder if people who have migraines even know about these tests?
