I often have some minor skin rashes that come out every so often. I am pretty sure it is an allergic reaction. How do you know what causes your allergies?

Hi, why not go to a doctor to make sure if it's allergies or not?

I think even if you go to a doctor, you would still need to find out for yourself. When I consulted my GP for my allergies, he had me keep a record of things I eat. If my allergy breaks out after eating something, then I would avoid that. I would then test it at some future date, like a month after. Right now, I am definitely allergic to seafood!

Allergies can also be caused by other things not just by food. You should also check for these. Like do you break out when you clean the house (allergies to dust), or when it's cold? Or if you have airconditioning on?

I agree. Determining what causes your allergies is tough work, but it would be worth it. Particularly if you have asthma. Knowing what triggers your allergy and asthma could help you manage it.

The keyword here, though, is manage it. Allergies are incurable!

With skin rashes a lot of what you should be looking at as well is what you clean with, new cosmetics, new soaps, and laundry detergent. I'm not saying that is all that could cause it but those are very common culprits.

There are several blood tests you can do to see what you are allergic too! Not just food allergies but everyday allergies, like dust, animal fur, pollen. I did this test and it was quite helpful. I stay away from the things that cause the allergies and I have no problem.

I'll be going to my first appointment this Friday. I hope it leads to some sort of remedy, even if it just makes my attacks rare. I have no idea what I'm in for at the appt, but they said it would be a couple hours. I'm assuming they will be testing me with different allergens.
