I just found out that my daughter is probably allergic to milk . Our pediatrician told us to swap to soy milk but now she is always hungry. Is this because soy milk is not filling enough for her? Are there any other options besides soy?

Yes, there is a formula that is made from simpler proteins and with none of the allergens. But it is very expensive and hard to get-and I believe has to be prescribed. How old is the child? Can you not just give her more formula?

How old is the baby? All of my daughters had to have the soy formula and my first born I had to add some cereal to the formula. You may have to end up feeding the baby more often if she is too young for the cereal though.

She is 15 months old so she is already eating solids we just took her off of cow's milk. It's been 4 days now and she is just constantly telling us she is hungry. I did consider putting her back on soy formula to see if that would make a difference.

It is scientifically proved that milk generates phlem in the oesophagus and that is why excessive drinking of milk during nights is not good.

The only other option I believe is out that is coconut milk. The reason she is still hungry is probably cow's milk has more vitamins and nutrients than soy milk.

I also heard that goat's milk formula is a good alternative.  They say it doesn't cause allergy.  But it is also a bit more expensive than cow's milk.

Haha.  You don't seem to like the word.  Somebody gave me that nickname  because it does describe me to a certain extent.  ( I wonder what you think of amoeba? hehe)  But wait,  what has this got to do with milk allergy?

It doesn't have anything to do with milk allergies, I was just curious if you knew what your choice of user name meant.   It's not that I don't like the word I am just not partial to people who discriminate against foreigners.  Amoeba is not as bad as xenophobic.

Have you tried Hypoallergenic formulas which are produced by using enzymes to break down

Nearly all of my children have an allergy to milk.  Once I quit nursing them at approximately 9 months, I didn't give them any type of milk after that.  No formulas either.  Instead they could eat yogurt and cheese.  My pediatrician told me to give them lots of kiwis, too, because they have more calcium than milk has.  They have all done very well and do not have a calcium
