How common a condition is this? I'm not a young person but I have recently noticed that one of my breasts is noticibly (to me) larger than the other. I did mention it to my doctor but she didn't think it was very important and nothing to worry about. Should I worry?

I'm quite sure that it's nothing to worry about and your doctor would have sent you for tests if they though there was anything amiss. It's a bit like feet, there is always one larger than the other!

I agree with softly spoken, it is quite common condition. For some women it is more noticeable than others but I have heard from several women that this is normal.

Which breast of yours is larger? Right or left? If your right breast is larger than your left and you happen to be right-handed, I'm sure you do a lot of things with your right arm/hand. This causes your right pectoral muscles to become bulky or something. It's normal.

You're correct peepam, it is my right breast and, yes, I am right-handed. This is a good explanation. On a cheeky note, I think I will ask my husband to massage my left breast more than he does my right one from now on.

I have recently noticed myself that one of my breasts is not only larger but also sags a lot more than the other. My doctor also tells me that there is nothing to worry that it was just gravity doing its part. I was always told that we always have one thing larger than the other even if the difference is minuscule.

As long as you don't feel any pain or numbness with your breasts then you have nothing to worry about. I guess it is only you (and your husband) who would notice such difference between the sizes of the breast.
